This 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T convertible was refurbished in 2019 in Nevada during a process that is said to have involved installing a 440ci Magnum V8, refinishing the car in metallic blue, refreshing the black interior, and overhauling the suspension. Features include a three-speed automatic transmission, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, exhaust headers, a black convertible top, staggered-diameter Rallye-style wheels, front disc brakes, front and rear spoilers, a center console, power windows, and a Kenwood cassette stereo. The car reportedly spent time in Nevada and Washington before the seller purchased it in mid-2024. This modified Challenger R/T is now offered with the removed 383ci V8 and associated parts, a top boot, and an Arizona title.
The car was repainted in a color intended to match Bright Blue (B5) during the aforementioned refurbishment and features a power-operated black convertible top and body-color front and rear spoilers. The sport hood has securing pins, and other equipment includes dual side mirrors, a quick-release fuel cap, chrome bumpers, quad headlights, quad tailpipes, and Challenger R/T and 440 Six Pack badging. The “R/T” emblems on the fenders were installed after some of the accompanying photos were taken.
Rallye-style wheels measuring 14″ in front and 15″ at the rear are mounted with 215/70 front and 255/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and the car also has power-assisted steering. The suspension was updated with replacement parts during the refurbishment.
The interior was refreshed during the 2019 refurbishment and features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl. Other appointments include power windows, woodgrain trim, a center console, a Kenwood cassette stereo, a chrome glovebox door, and black carpeting.
